Choix Voyage d'art
We - me, Abby and Willa (who does all Choix graphics!) - visited a dear ami de Choix, artist Bruno Pasquier-Desvignes, at his home on the Giens peninsula in Hyères. Bruno's art has been a focal point of Choix's collection since our start in 2018.
We finished our trip in Paris where we dipped in and out of Art Week 2024; highlights included Art Basel, Design Miami and...

Zucchini flowers at @chez_davia_nice
Chez Davia, notre choix for our one dinner in Nice and nous ne regrettons rien !!! Pierre Altobelli serves perfect local cuisine at this classic Niçoise establishment started by his maternal grandmother, Davia, in 1953. Must order: zucchini flowers, barbajuan (ravioli fritter filled with chard pesto), beef daube and legumes farci. A perfect resto with a warm country house vibe.
@hotelamournice
We stayed at Hotel Amour Nice. Vibe - hip boutique hotel decorated with eclectic nostalgia. Cozy, unique rooms, a Mediterranean resto, a small rooftop pool, and a lovely beach club down the street. The staff is so friendly, and the clientele ranges; couples on vacation, cool locals playing cards w. verres de vin, an eclectic group of elderly Germans enjoying a large group dinner. On Sat night a DJ and disco ball were both spinnin’. Location was perfect – we could easily walk/uber/tram to all the places we wanted to go. They also have GREAT merch!
Plus de Nice…

@palaisdosier – vannier (basket maker) in the old town
@maisondjulia_– boutique founded by the coolest and nicest mother-daughter duo, Diane + Djulia – their fab clothing and accessories are hand-made, unique, timeless, and often one-of-a-kind.
Marché Saleya - diff markets on diff days of the week on the Cours Saleya. We couldn’t make the Monday: Marché à la brocante (antiques/flea market) but strolled the Sunday Marché aux fleurs. Not just for flowers – do not miss the barbajuans-on-the-go filled avec ham, cheese and onion confit !!!
Best kept secret 🤫 @odetta_vintage à Paris
Pristine, careful edit of clothing and accessories. A mixture of vintage and press/ runway samples from Chanel, The Row, Celine, Prada, YSL etc. Museum level curation <3

@designmiami à Paris at L'hôtel de Maisons
As the global authority for collectible design, Design Miami brings together the design world’s most influential players through their acclaimed fairs and online marketplace. We attended the 2nd edition of their fair in Paris at the spectacular 18th century hôtel particulier (aka grand urban mansion), and former home of Karl Lagerfeld.
Shout out to our amazing friend, CEO of Design Miami, @jrobertsinbrazil for coordinating our visit!

Our friend Chloe intro’d us to a new fave resto in Paris. Fab couple @tessduteil and @geoffreybelin (they met working at @arpege.paris) are serving up beautiful bright dishes in the 20th arrondissement. We ❤️’d the coquillages and vegetable mille-feuille.
@abbyyozell et Bruno Pasquier-Desvignes at his home in Giens
We visited artist Bruno Pasquier-Desvignes, cher ami de la famille de toujours, at his home on the Giens peninsula in Hyères in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southern France. Among his many other attributes and accomplishments, Bruno has been described by The New York Times as “part tinkerer and part storyteller, a cross between Alexander Calder and Jean Tinguely” – explore his extensive bio here, and here. Anything I could share here would barely scratch the surface!!!
Bruno’s art has been a focal point of Choix’s collection since our very beginning. Along with sharing his oeuvre, we continue to produce a series of greeting cards featuring reproductions of his iconic gouache florals.
During our visit we spent time in his studio exploring his endless creations - he is still making art every day in every media at the age of 94!
les chèvres de Bruno + le poisson de Bruno
Just some of the many creatures in Bruno’s studio. Where we see a winecork, the corner of a cardboard box, an empty bottle of laundry detergent, a paper plate, Bruno sees a solider on horseback, a scurrying mouse, birds, butterflies – the list is endless. Through Bruno’s eyes everything has obvious potential!

@château.pascalette
Beautifully reimagined by its elegant new owners, Olivier and Nanou, this recently opened b+b and domaine (vineyard) is in La Londe-les-Maures, 30 minutes from Giens. They have thoughtfully restored the property, which dates back to the 1890s, merging original elements, like the incredible painted ceilings, with updated decor. Each room and cottage is unique!
Olivier generously and proudly toured us around the property – including the side of the house where he and Nanou will live and have created BEST bunk room EVER for their 13 (!!!!) grandchildren. We joined them and visiting fam for a few glasses of the domaine’s rosé and a stunning sunset view of the nearby Salines (salt flats) and Var coast. We CAN’T WAIT to return!!!
Check out nearby @hestia.bormes for dinner – discovered by @the_willa using the natural wine app, Raisin. “Follow good wine to find fab food” - Willa. She ain’t wrong. Must orders: gougères, bone marrow and artichoke ravigout.
